Friends of Jesus Community Services
Serving Neighbors. Sharing Hope.
We believe that caring for our neighbors means recognizing practical needs and doing what we can to help meet them.
Friends of Jesus Community Services is the community service ministry of Interfaith Helpers of Gloucester County, Inc. We are a small, locally focused ministry working to fill gaps in available assistance by helping individuals and families facing everyday challenges and unexpected hardships.
We recognize that a household can face a serious setback without qualifying for traditional income-based assistance. An unexpected expense, disruption in income, or other difficult circumstance can leave people struggling to make ends meet. When resources permit, we seek to provide practical, short-term assistance to help individuals and families regain their footing and move forward.
Our work takes different forms depending on the needs we encounter and the resources available. Whether providing essential items, helping connect food with those who can use it, or finding practical ways to assist a neighbor, our goal is to make a meaningful difference where we can.
Our community service efforts have included food assistance, emergency gift cards, and Blessing Bags containing essential supplies for neighbors experiencing hardship. We also look for opportunities to connect available resources with people who can benefit from them, including through food rescue and community partnerships.

Current Community Initiative: Glassboro Thanksgiving Meal Outreach 2026
This Thanksgiving, Friends of Jesus Community Services plans to help address local food insecurity by providing prepared Thanksgiving meals to Glassboro residents experiencing hardship.
Our goal is to provide meals to approximately 10 individuals who may otherwise go without a holiday meal, including people facing financial difficulties, limited mobility, social isolation, or other barriers to accessing existing meal programs. When possible, meals will be delivered directly to recipients to help overcome transportation and access challenges.
Assistance will be provided based on need, without regard to religious affiliation. This initiative reflects our commitment to filling gaps in available community assistance and helping neighbors through practical, compassionate service.
As a small ministry with limited resources, we are working to make this outreach possible and to explore opportunities for future hunger-relief efforts.
Community Support Makes a Difference
As a small ministry with limited resources, we rely on community support to make projects like this possible. We are grateful to the community partners who help make practical assistance possible. Wawa Community Care has supported our community outreach through donated hot beverage coupons, helping us share a little warmth with our neighbors.
The Zallie Community Foundation has also generously provided $150 in ShopRite gift cards to support our efforts to assist neighbors facing hardship.
Support like this helps our small ministry respond to practical needs in the community and reflects the value of organizations working together to help their neighbors.
Small Ministry. Practical Help. Real Needs.
We may not be able to meet every need, but we believe that even modest acts of service can make a difference. We seek opportunities to help with the resources available to us and to work with others when collaboration can accomplish more.
